Does anyone know if I can create a .bat file or something so I don't
have to keep typing

sv_pure 0 , /devmap etc ... in the console.

when I am testing my game.

I'm sure you could do a .bat as well, but the simple way is to just add the
commands to a shortcut. Drag a shortcut to quake3.exe someplace, then click
properties on it. Add what you want in the target line, like:
"D:\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +sv_pure 0 +devmap q3dm17 +addbot tankjr

what editor you using ?
Q3Map2Toolz you can set to launch game after a compile or just off of
a .map

or i suppose you can create a shortcut on your desktop and give it a
command line
somthing like the following ,
"C:\quake3\quake3.exe" +set sv_pure 0 +set g_gametype 0 +devmap yourmap

continued ...

after i work on a map for awhile I generaly just compile it generate
the ass
and stick um in the pk3 , that way i can see how bots react to my
changes etc ..
help find troubled spots during game play etc .. etc ..

I was comfortable with Quark, but now I have been trying GTKRadient. I
have never seen Q3Map2Toolz. What do you like about it.

I use GtkRadiant also ( I think better the quark ) .
With q3maptoolz you have alot more compiling options for the bsp ,
vis, light and bspc stages.
it's also handy for reverse enginering some .bsp's to .map if need be

here's a screen shot of it
