As Q3A is plagued with cheats and PB is not able to stop it, the same players have cracked all ready Q4 and fun is gone. However I have a brilliant idea how to improve PB and catch cheaters in every game. How about asking honest players to send recorded demos with cheaters to evenbalance? Make PB that way that will record... ID number/key and nick for the game. If someone will send you a demo and key will be embedded with that demo and it will be evident that player is cheating, than a procedure should be easy!!! 1-st time ban for 1 month, than 3 months, than a permanent ban! Just as people for serious demos with cheaters. Instead of working on newest patches (You could ease on these ones, because they are the problematic anyway) watch demos with recorded numbers, player names and send them the message that they are banned for 1 month. If they will complain, show them the demo! You can even display these demos for d/load at your web page! WITH THEIR NICK NAMES!!! Of course they will have to change the way they cheat, change numbers and change their nicks all the time. And that is PAIN for them. If they change names, everybody will know, that they are cheating and that's the reason, they are changing their nicknames. Let's say you're getting demo Gladiator -34rfg35447856mb and is very clear that he is cheating. You could a lift a ban, if cheater will send you his undetectable by PB cheat! ;) If he will cheat again, a permanent ban. If he will complain (I doubt!) he can be shown a demo or he can d/load it for himself and other will learn how to spot a cheater. Initially will be a hard work but... nothing will really work for cheaters and a situation will greatly improve to the stage, that cheating will be rare and cheater will run away from the server, before someone will record the demo. Many others will play quake, if cheats will be gone. Warmest regards and Happy New Year!!! ;)

Dont stress! > > > EXACTLY. > > Well said. q3 has been long time infested with cheating. no matter what addon or imporvement you do to pb, crackers will find a way in. it remains a game and let the game host see if they care about it, most of the time they host them selves the cheatbots so it waste of time. even when you use a weapon and gain fast kills you considered a cheater even thoug some weapon in certain modes are very effective without beeing a cheat so when u use them you gain the reputation of cheater.
