alt.games.quake4 is now up and running.

If your server doesn't have it, please request that it be propagated via
your support newsgroup.

Why do we need a separate newsgroup for each Quake game? Is there so much
traffic that it needs to be split? A big downside to this is that it takes
Google Groups forever to start archiving a new group, so we won't be able
to search recent posts until the game has gone into the 2nd hand bin.

This group has died out a lot, so perhaps all remaining traffic should move
back to alt.games.quake.

Sadly, my server doesn't carry that one either <g> I suggest AGQ2 since Q4
is Q2's sequel.

That's because the group was JUST created. For it to be propagated, Usenet
servers need to add the group to their feeds.
Hence, the post by slave asking people to request it.
