I have to agree....

Although, it could improve once the mod developers get their hands on it.
Right now, the best we can hope for is that it generates a lot of interest in 
quake, and more people start playing Q3 again.
At worst, it will thin out the remaining Q3 players even more than they 
already are.

I have to admit that after getting some tweaks from Upsedchaps
Q4 is playable.

While I still hate these graphics (like doom2) I have to admit that 
movement in the game is better than in Q3A!

I have an impression that I have a config in Q3A which works well for 
me, but I think spending some time in Q4 on config and get use to it, 
and some new maps, especially custom ones and Q4 could be a winner for a 
multiplayer.

I've notice much smoother movement than in Q3A and more responsive as well.

But sounds... OMG. ID didn't realized that we have some serious speakers 
and sound is the atmosphere of the game?

These shots sounds like Commander Kane, like scratching the bum, not 
shooting.

Worst sounds in any ID games. Nothing sounds like QW shotgun or rocket.

After two days:

Plus - movement in MPlayer. Great stuff.needs right config to use it 
properly, right fov and right mouse adjustment.

Minus - graphics and sounds.

These are bad!

But who use top graphics in mp mode anyway!?

My suggestion to ID.

Get some simple graphics for MP, not dark ones and make some great 
levels where people can have a serious fun.

And for God sake change these sounds!!!

They are horrible, mosquito like shooting MG, gimmie a break!

Just update us with Release Point 24 and Quake will be still number one 
game. CD in CD player is crap as well!

And do it fast before players will lose the interest.

Why you didn't tested the game as you did Q3A???

We would tell you what is crap and what is great!

Hi, try this as an Autoexec, also try changing some of the values if the 
graphics are to washed out, let me know if its any better for you, it 
was for me, but i only got an ATI 9800pro 128, oh and i still love 
playing Q3A, mainly insta and some RA3.

It feels slow. Is there a "run" or "sprint" key I'm missing? I know that 
Shift is used to slow down, but that's more like switching from walk to 
crawl. I'm used to games like BF2 and even HL2 and Tribes 2 where movement 
is so much faster. When fighting in Q4 I feel like I'm mired in mud.

Well, do you remember having any, umm, outpatient surgery performed on you? 
If so, you're past the medical facilities.

Except that there's no run key in this game. I feel like I'm moving in 
molasses compared to other recent games. In fact, the other game I play 
uses Shift to sprint, so when I started playing Q4 I'd keep hitting that in 
hopes of going faster. Grrrrrr.

I can run faster in Q4 than in Q3A. In MP mode of course.

Still hate these graphics and sounds!

Try playing it in Linux. The graphics are the same, but the sounds of the 
weapons are crap. Not sure if it's my system or the Linux build.
