Hi. I just read about 15 posts all asking the same friggin question:
Why does the IHV say no opengl subsystem found?
Therefore, this is the ONE FINAL POST that will explain it.
I don't have the answers myself.
However, I'm hoping that people will post them here.
That way we can finally nip this thing in the butt!
kapice?

1. Download the 3dfx OpenGL Beta drivers. http://www.3dfx.com . Look for the OpenGL Beta 2.1 driver pack (1.82 mb). 2. Install this driver set. 3. Copy the file from the 3dfx folder named "3dfxopengl.dll" to your Quake3 folder. 4. Rename the file you just copied to "opengl32.dll". 5. MAKE SURE you have your desktop in 16bit color (not 24bit). Also, mine worked only in 800x600 resolution with one Voodoo II 12mb. 6. Reboot. 7. Run game. 8. If you get a startup window when running the game that says "your current desktop blah blah may not be compatible, etc.", then something is not right with your drivers. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- "It is an idle and pernicious habit to ask for assistance on some matter before bringing one's own judgement to bear on the subject." --Robert Bridges--- Paul Harvey (not that one)

Same as Voodoo II...(should be anyway). My brother set his Voodoo I 4mb up using the same instructions as the Voodoo II and it ran fine. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- "It is an idle and pernicious habit to ask for assistance on some matter before bringing one's own judgement to bear on the subject." --Robert Bridges--- Paul Harvey (not that one) [S]Pawle (if you're lookin' for me)

No special files are required. TNT already has full OpenGL support. Just
make sure that there is no opengl32.dll present in the Q3-folder (so it can
use the default from the windows system folder).

Post answers regarding Savage3D. It runs with the current drivers, which have full OpenGl support. May get lock-ups with 32-bit colour (esp. with MVP3 motherboard). Try 16-bit (doesn't look as good), or setting VO=ON in the registry (or using S3Tweak). VO=ON runs 32-bit without lock-ups (for me) but performance sucks. Mini-GL does not work. Chris
