A good example of when a game developer hurried up was when they created
sin. Because of their speed they created a buggy and horrible game. I do not
mind if i have to wait a few months if it means that the game is going to be
a quality finished product.

Hey! What's wrong with q2??? It's one of the greatest games
available - especially for multiplayer deathmatch!

hehe, well, q2 was VERY buggy when realeased, because id wanted it out
before christmas (games sell good here, VERY good)... as you remember there
was a point realease, because the lack of multiplayer levels/proper netcode
code.........which didnt make it into the realease.

However it's a very fine game now, VERY fine.... I just prefer q1 better.

BTW i dont wanna discuss that q1-q2 thingie. It depends on what you like

I think they can better wait a while till there are a lot off computers
powerfull enough to run the game. If they release it quickly, only about 5%
off the gamers can play it, so most off them won't and they will wait for
the next game, probably not by ID, so they lose money.

Actually I wish they wait, because on my P100 without voodoo, quake2 is only
playable in 320x200, so quake3 at 1x1 or something. I even had difficulties
running the Q3 movie....

I'm not a huge gamer. I got an AMD K6-2 400mhz chip, 64mb of mem
(upgrading 64 more soon I hope), Diamond Viper v330 AGP, Quantum
Fireball EX .. Runs Q2 w/o a problem. I'm not looking so religeously
at this Q3 craze... but is mine going to be "Stone age" for this, or
am I in the right track? Most my other friends got ripped off p166
Packard Bells, looks like I'll be playing alone in any case :) --Mike
