Personally, I'd find out what components are in either computer, and
purchase the components seperately. Even with a scamming $30 assembly
costs, you'd probably end up a lot cheaper. You can then go over the
component list with the computer retailer. If they're a decent shop,
they'll recommend or disrecommend things mostly on a performance/price
basis. 

If they only recommend the most expensive things, without quite
explaining in detail why it would be a better item, go to another
retailer. :-)

But, that's what I'd do ;-)
