In the end, it will be a choice made from what YOU like in what you are 
seeing ON it.   I have a pair of Samsung Syncmaster 930B monitors running on 
this rig right now.  They are both on the DVI ports of one of my 2 
7800GTX's.  One is six months older than the other.  The picture is slightly 
different between them.
What I saw and wanted when I got one:
High contrast and bright level.  There are better ones today for the same 
money.
  Look for the depth of blackness, that is important too.  Look for it being 
8 bits per pixel rather than 6 as these are.  That really shows up in the 
smoothness of dark areas.  Speed, 16 ms response time or less, for gaming 
and movie watching.   slower response times give you ghosting or motion 
blur.  there are a LOT of good ones to choose from, in many brands.  And for 
a gamer, look for the higher resolution.  Greater than 1280x1024.
