What the hell is wrong with these programmers they didn't provide a brightness adjustment to OUR liking?????????????????????????????????? Maybe someone has a 'crappy monitor' (Mine is ViewSonic 19' CRT P95f+ where I have a button to brighten up the screen) but... but if some clever guy is FIXING Quake 2, which is evidently fucked up by ID Software, that is the truth. That's not my imagination or 'crappy monitor' excuse. That is a huge fuckup and things like these should be called by real names. And the real name is poor programming. Just compare Q3A to Q4 in a multi player. Progress? Hardly. Rather backwards. Better game engine, maybe but the rest - crap graphics and sound but needs badly much faster computer! For what? For running these crappy graphics? What Real advantage has Q4 over other games? At least ID made Q3A with great attention to game playability, demo was for few months to test and to listen to comments of best players. Result - great game. Q4 - new, crappy game, again to dark. Boys are trying to get it brighter! No one has learned from Q3A? If no one will say nothing, they will think that we are happy with that. I'm definitely not happy with Q4. They have to release some serious Point Release, if we will be bitching a lot. Bitching motivates them. Prising them will do nothing and no progress will be made. They made a lot of $'s and we are not happy with their product. That's why guy is asking, why that fricken game is so dark? He has a crappy monitor? Or rather the game has crappy adjustments? Be honest and say it loud. Q4 is MUCH to dark and what Raven is going to do about it?
