Q3 Freeze Tag

I connected to a Freeze Tag server some months ago, where all the components
of the mod were given to me by the server download (I assume).  No problem -
and the play is delightfull.

When I try to start a game up on my own though, I receive the error:

HUNK_ALLOCATETEMPMEMORY:FAILED ON 2665040

Any ideas on what is happening?  The server is running Freeze Tag V1.21
Build 58

Do I have to install the mod manually on my pc?  Thanks -
