I have the Windoze retail CD of Quake 3 Arena. Want to run it on a Power Mac G5 with Mac OS X Panther. Downloaded Quake3-132-AltivecTest2.pkg.sit. The Mac executable asks where the retail version is (I copied the whole CD to hard disk), and the screen turns white, then Quake 3 hangs. Running the Quake console, it complains about "unexpected GUI 3" whatever.
