Yeah, but I believe he mentioned that "she" is upgrading from a voodoo3
*pci*. I concur - a voodoo3 is *good enough* - however, a geforce will
improve things tremendously over a voodoo3.

You are correct, anything above a GF2 GTS is overkill on any P3-style
(or athlon) PC-133 SDRAM systems under 1.6GHz (haven't tested anything
above 1.6GHz). However, I am able to cap at 125FPS with my GF2 GTS on a
celeron 1.1A @ 1.6GHz (50FPS?!?!? - lol, my old voodoo3 got 80FPS with a
P3-600 and a _lot_ of tweaks). NOTE: I only use 1024x768 resolution (no
lower, no higher).

If you have patience, you can score a 32MB GF2 GTS for like $30 shipped
ebay (or $40 for the 64MB GF2 GTS), or like I did fetch a nice GF3 Ti500
for under $60 shipped (or Ti200 golden sample/brownbox)...

Thank god I no longer have to do all those tweaks of years ago, with the
voodoo3 (particularly, no more cg_forcemodel enabled, and curved
surfaces looking like rectangles).

PS - as *what* man says? ;)
