open GL error

I hadn't played in a few months & when I tried to join a game through
gamespy , I can't the error I get is "cannot start opengl substation" I
tried going direct or even playing the single player game. I DL the openGL
troubleshooter .. .nothing works , is there a setting somewhere ? TIA
