Unfortunately,

This virtual space is filled with too many 'greater-than-thou' posters,
who believe they make and enforce the rules, yet can disregard them (as
they are above all that). They post off topic repeatedly and all the
time. They are very cliquey, and of course bend their rules only for
those of the 'inner circle' (clan). Their heads are so large, that they
actually believe _all_ other readers in the group care what they have to
say, and that these readers also wish and desire to be a part of their
'inner circle' (clan). It is the free reign of the mob mentality/peer
pressure zealots.

In many 'discussions', when they cannot come up with a constructive
argument or counter point to something they disagree with, they take
this weakness in their ability to communicate an idea personally. They
project this pent-up anger into ad hominem attacks in the future, at the
very drop of a feather. All the while, waiting in silence for that
'enemy' to slip-up, in order to make their opportunistic mark. Often
times these attacks surface as plonks, top-posting flames, or threats of
abuse reports. Mostly it's simply name calling, usually with curse words.

It is rediculous and almost unfathomable how fucking stupid they are.
They can't even figure out how immature and *totally obvious* their
methods are (or the fact that these methods have no affect on anyone,
but the simple minded already in their clan). You almost have to feel
sorry for these pathetic wretches...

The best recourse is to offer up a single reply in order to explain the
hypocracy or hyperbole in their methods, or to simply ignore their
rantings. To be quite honest, I'd rather not play Q3 with the majority
of the people in this group (however, I'll bet I already do). Most are
IRC jockeys, and just cant STFU (as if the Q3 console is IRC/ICQ).
