Don't know prices offhand, but if you want a gaming cpu, get at least a 400mhz (I'd go pentium, though many will say amd), 128mb ram, a 20x cd player (do you really need a 50x?!), a 6gb hd, and probably a regular video card and a separate 3d. Voodoo 3 or one of the new non 3dfx cards coming out. Here's some advice, don't buy it from a company such as compaq or dell. You could do much better (probably) to find someone who builds cpu's out of his own shop (or bedroom) than you could buying from a money hungry corporation. I got a killer cpu for about $800 (without a 3d card) and I even screwed it up when I had first bought it, and he fixed it for me free! PS. try listing your price range Insomniac wrote in message ... >We're going to buy a new PC very soon so that we can network it with my >current one.
