Where the heck is everyone?
Question- moved from a 19" Dell flatSCREEN CRT to a 20" Dell 2001FP LCD for
Q2 and it seems to be sucking. It's like learning to play all over again -
same card I was using (GeForce FX5200 128MB. Motion seems blurred at all
resolutions. Only way I can get a good framerate is to drop down to 800x600
and that's like tunnel vision. Any tweaks to make it work better or is that
just the way it is with LCDs???

can't comment on that particular lcd, but that is a very common problem with
a lot of them, it's called ghosting. Personally I will never use an lcd as
my main screen until they no longer make a good crt and I HAVE to switch.
Some of the newer lcd's do not suffer from that problem, so you can get some
that work fine. Apparently just not that one. Have you installed the
monitors drivers? I have heard of people with dell lcd's that had problems
because they forgot to install the monitor drivers that came with the
monitor.

Yeah - installed the Dell-supplied monitor drivers and I'm even running the
HDMI cables instead of analog. Still get the ghosting. Using 1024x768 at
75hz seems to be the most manageable with the field of view, etc. but it's
like playing with Crisco smeared on your screen. I wish I could bring back
my old CRT and place it next to the LCDs, but I don't know how I'd convince
my boss it was needed for "research purposes".....................

Are you playing at its native resolution? Most LCDs, it's at 1280x1024
and, with some LCDs, looks even sharper than most CRTs for some games.
