I was wondering that if it would be ok if i set up a quake competition in a
school. Does anyone know by doing so that if i was breaking any laws or
copyrights.

Think somebody would report you if you did? Who would know? As long as
everyone has their own copy of Quake, nothing illegal about it. Lucky you
getting to play games in your school.

I would just make sure the Network Administrator is Ok with it as he is
probably on the verge of going postal, and you don't want to receive his
fury! He probably plays Quake though so It shouldn't be a problem. What's
wrong with a little gibbing at school anyway? Blowing chunks of putrid
flesh about a wicked landscape! Ahh...soothing...
