But aren't the newsgroups postings sent to all the news servers. For example
I'm on easynews so my newsgroup isn't read from any host computer, only waht
easynews has stored. In that case no one really owns the newsgroup, or at
least not all of it.

Anyway the first post in this thread is spam and vstores is deleting the
store because of it, they have a zero tolereance policy to spam. They want
you to get the word out about your store but they only hinder your progress.
I hate vstore. You'd be much better off with an account at ebworld or
buy.com. At least with those two you have reasonable prices and good
inventory control.
