I am not a fan of "pure deathmatch" but Q3 was certainly an interesting direction for ID Software to explore. Perhaps ID Software thought that for all people that loved their games (since Doom anyway), all were into deathmatch. I suspect that ID Software made less money on Q3 than Q2. I am guessing here. If so, that is why Doom3 re-charts territory that Q2 explored. In any case, where does ID Software go with FPS's <slightly bored> ??? It is always the same, there are weapons and there are enemies. That is it. All else is variation, it has been done before. Nothing is new. ID Software can improve the graphics, improve the audio, but within limits, we are all sat in front of a screen with keyboard and mouse and maybe some type of joystick. I think that come the year 3000, games might be like the HoloDeck in Star Trek Next Generation, where we are 100% involved. SH
