If I am understanding the way to play a different level in quake 2. Is to
first start the game, hit the Tilde key to bring up the console, type in
map'whateverthemapsname', then hit enter. The new map is supposed to come in
to effect now. when I do this nothing happens, nothing at all the typeing I
did just goes up a line, and a blank line is in its place, but no new map
comes up. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something wrong with my
game or console? I am using a Mac G-3 434 Mhz, 224 MB Ram 65 MB allocated to
Quake 2, the rest free for the system to use, sprockets- 1.7.5, open GL
1.1.3. My Quake version is 1.0.3.
Thanks for any help, very new to gaming.
