I'd like to see how Quake 4 runs on my system. But, I haven't found a demo of the game anywhere. Does anyone know if there is one? Am I really going to have use BitTorrent just to check it out? Thanks.

Hi doofus. I did go by the website, but didn't see it. Anyone have a link (if one exists) to the demo? Thanks. --------------------------------------------- "Dan C" <youmustbejoking@invalid.lan> wrote in message news:pan.2005.11.03.05.30.21.555984@invalid.lan... > On Wed, 02 Nov 2005 22:58:39 +0000, darkrats wrote: > >> Does anyone know if there is one? > > You can't be bothered to swing by the website and see for yourself? Ah, wait, the top site uses a pop-up for age verification. Er, right, that's really useful. ... oh, look, more flash garbage .... jesus, now it's loading sounds .... nothing in 'downloads' ... nothing in 'press'. >> Am I really going to have use BitTorrent just to check it out? > > No, you go to the store and buy it, doofus. Perhaps the poster, like me, is nowadays somewhat wary of throwing hard-earned cash at something that may well turn out to be more hype than a Hollywood blockbuster and with just about as much substance. Given the reviews I've seen so far I'm not sure that it would be in the interests of ID to provide a demo until after people have given up and bought it anyway. My, how times have changed. Still, I've not yet seen it myself, so shouldn't pre-judge. I'll be getting a 'demo' soon enough, and if I play the demo for more than 30 minutes I'll buy it. -- /mel/ np: silence

Well, that sucks, but wasn't really my point... He couldn't be bothered to even check for himself. > Perhaps the poster, like me, is nowadays somewhat wary of throwing > hard-earned cash at something that may well turn out to be more hype > than a Hollywood blockbuster and with just about as much substance. Then perhaps you should do some homework, and read some of the (many) reviews posted online, and in paper gaming magazines. > Given the reviews I've seen so far I'm not sure that it would be in the > interests of ID to provide a demo until after people have given up and > bought it anyway. My, how times have changed. You are correct there. I recall when the demos were out MUCH earlier than the real thing, and people couldn't wait to get a (legit) copy. -- If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space.
