Q4 - Everything is green! help!

I got Q4 running nicely on my Radeon 9200 thanks to the autoexec.cfg
from http://ucguides.savagehelp.com/Quake4/FPSVisuals.htm (detail and
speed are ok) but one problem remains: All textures and model skins are
green (like in green light). After seeing the most colorful screenshots
on the net, I don't think this is normal. Any ideas what I should
tweak?

Found this on IRC. It might apply.

<akri_gia_> Well i just bought my Q4 in a store next to my house... But 
after install "when i play" the walls and evrything arround 'beasts, men, 
ground,...' all have a green color except the blood that is clearly red :p 
but still this green really is a problem PLZ help me out of this mess
