hey m8, can you help me with a q2 problem please.
i have a g force 4 video card, i have the latest drivers, i did a fresh
install of q2, the game has never came up, it goes right to a black screen,
with a
" out of scan range " message.
i have a new sony Trinitron monitor, witch supports up to 85 hertz.
i have q1 and q3 installed, also wolfenstien and cod, no problems with other
games.
i deleted the cfg file, restarted the game, same problem, and of course the
game regenerated the cfg.
i see nothing wrong with the cfg file.
my sony is set at 85 hertz, that should run q2.
humm.

Add or change the following line to Config.cfg: 
set vid_fullscreen "0"

By default, Quake2 runs at 320x200 fullscreen in software rendering .
Seems like the monitor doesn't like that resolution for some strange
reason.

hey raymond, i set seta_fullscreen to 0 in my cfg, it got the game up in
window mode, from there i set my video up, and now the game starts up, but
to the console, where it says "disconnected from server"  then i can hit the
esc key and the game starts.
weird hu, wonder why it says disconnected from server ?
if i hit the ~ or esc i can get in the game.
humm.

It uses the term "server" for itself if you are playing a single player
game.

yes, i get the disconnected from server when trying to start single player.
it connects to online servers fine
