.. I know the game itself is worth probably no more than 10 bucks nowadays..
Still, does anyone know of a place that I might be able to download a copy
of quake?
Nevermind..

.. Turns out I did have a copy, and the reason why it didn't work was 'cause
I'm running Windows 2000..

Works fine now. : )

All I gotta do is find a good server to play at.

Any suggestions?

www.kazaa.com
use that or... um better yet screw that, go do a google search for
"kazaalite" with or without a space, that is the GOOD twin of kazaa, no
spyware/adware etc, no extra progs installed without your permission and you
will find quake 1, 2, 3 and doom 1, 2, and probably even hexen 1 and 2 on
there along with a billion other pieces of software/songs/videos etc

especially when it's about quake1, a game you can buy for $1 +S&H if you
know where to look... if it's about Microsoft i don't mind... they've got
enough money.... but games and music warez is BAD!!!

i agree with the raping of filthy corporations.

when i comes to games (ESPECIALLY id games) i always pay
for them.

i bought three copies of q1 to try and get my friends to
play. they didn't like it enough, but i didn't feel bad
giving id the extra money.
