hey shaggy, i installed idgamma in to the quake\ID1 folder, i corrected the
path in the idgamma.ini configuration settings, to D:\Program
Files\QUAKE\ID1.
i have my games on my second harddrive.
so when i start idgamma, the path is right, but when i make changes to, like
gamma, it says, D:\Program Files\QUAKE\ID1 not found.
any ideas ?

if idgamma is in your quake folder
the path to the pak files would be \id1
not d:\program files\quake\id1
 
imo it's better to install idgamma in it's own directory
and have it generate pak files in a separate folder
and once you've tweaked idgamma's settings a bit
copy the resulting pak file to quake\id1 renaming if needed

safer than the possibility of overwriting a pak file accidently
