I had the same problem with Alice, really... My computer at seemingly
completely random points will freeze, blue screen (These games are the
only time I see that since getting WinXP), or reboot itself. usually
within the first 5 minutes of playing, almost always within the first
1 minute.

System rundown:

WinXP Home
GeForce2 MX/MX400 64mb
384MB PC100 RAM
P3 600Mhz
Soundblaster 16 PCI

Admittedly, I have freezes very occasionally with a couple other
games, but none anywhere near as bad as with Alice and Quake3. Any
suggestions? All drivers are update to the most current available.
