Quake 1 mods question - please read

I have an old laptop, a P75, which I've been using for emulators,
and I recently installed Quake on it. I was wondering if there are any
mods for Quake 1 (that run in DOS mode, as Windows will probably be too
slow on the laptop) that offer deathmatch modes, as in Quake 3, UT and so
on?

I have installed Killer Quake, which has bots (friendly and enemy)
which seems failry good, but it veers too much towards "gimmicks"
(exotic weapons) rather than straight deathmatch, to my mind.

Are there any others that offer bots, new levels and deathmatch styles?

And what are the best Quake 1 downloadable deathmatch arenas, please?

Thanks for your time,

ewgf.
