turn left right or strafe left right ?
since your looking left right with the mouse I assume you mean strafe left right
and move foward/backward with the joystick

Using these settings causes me to strafe right when I push the stick to the
left, & strafe right when I push it left! How do I correct this?

hmm it should work with those settings 
check your quake strafe settings make sure look strafe is off
if that dosen't work try  joyadvaxisx 1
