Original Quake runs too fast on my pc

Hey all,
I just installed Quake for DOS 1.06 and havent played it in a
while, (I got the game when it hit the stores, I was outside in the
snow waiting for the store to open, lol). We're going to be having
LAN parties and so I fired up quake, and holy crap. The FPS and
player movement is like 50-100x faster than what it should be. I
understand that now with modern processing power, it's just taking
advantage of this. Question is, how does one slow it down to possibly
P166 speed without doing too much tweaking. Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance,
Michael

use winquake or glquake if you have a 3dcard that supports opengl
both are free
while your at it get quakeworld and the qw server
qw is much inhanced over quake

qw has remote control bulit in so you'd be able to control the server while
playing just of it's features.
qw is also free. and includes a opengl version.
