With what I have heard of this game it sounds as though the system
requirements will be quite high. I presently own a 486DX2-66, 32megs RAM,
256k cache, 28800bps USR modem, SB AWE32 (I hope it will be supported?),
and a HERCULES DYNAMITE (local bus). I am considering and upgrade to the
P100 in the spring to summer. I wonder though if 486 users will still be
able to run it in high detail at a fast and smooth pace? hmmmmm?

             bye for now..............

p.s. I await the big QUAKE!

It would be like playing Doom on a 386-25. You will definately need
a pentium or better to enjoy the 30+ fps deathmatches that you get in
Doom.

Speaking of deathmatches, I was a bit dismayed when I heard that the
only weapon in Quake will be a hammer. I'm sure that Quake deathmatching
will be great, but nothing compares to the vicious fire fights I get
into with the chaingun, shotgun, and rocket launcher!

I hope id doesn't drop the ball on Doom 3. They have to license someone
to make Doom 3 for the *PC*, like they did with Raven for Heretic.

nahh no one said there would only be the hammer.. if there only is a hammer,
then it better damn well be THE hammer.. I'm sure there will be other cool
wonderful weapons to dismember your friends with! Spells, too.. there had
better be spells or I'll be dissapointed :(
