Well consider DOOM was shareware and was the sucessor to Wolfenstein's
1st-person shoot-em up game...

Well unlike DOOM, Dark Forces has actually a plot and a storyline to it...
which kinda prevents multiplayers :( (yes don't we all want to blow each
other up with landmines and thermal detenators! ;)) However, with public
pressure maybe LucasArts could do Dark Forces II with a commando team
(with the occassionaly friendly fire with a plasma cannon! ;))

Hmmm, Plot or Multiplayer?

Tough choice.

Anyway, DOOM has a plot, yes really!
Also, the looking Up and Down in DF spoils the game, as it is a pain to do.
However, the Jump option is very good - Doom never looks right when you can't
get up this knee high obstruction.

It would be cool if they (LucasArts) allowed multiplayer cooperation for
the plot in addition to a multiplayer Deathmatch(tm) mode in Dark Forces.
It definitely would have made the game more interesting... Personally, I
thought the game was *way* too easy and too short. If it had more levels
and/or multiplayer, I'd still have it on my machine. As it is, I've got
the CD sitting on a rack with Syndicate Plus and U8 (two other games
(IMHO) that were good, but not as good as they could have been).

>Anyway, DOOM has a plot, yes really!

Well, yeah, I guess it does: everyone you know is dead or will be soon.
You must now kick ass to save yourself and those fortunate enough not to
be eaten/captured/whatever by the demon beasts. :)

Sounds a little like "Urotsukidoji", ne? ^_-

>Also, the looking Up and Down in DF spoils the game, as it is a pain to do.

I don't know about that... The looking Up and Down in DF made the game
much easier than it would have been without it. Actually, I liked the
ability to see above and below you; it's more realistic, for one thing,
and it allows more interesting levels.

I must concur on this point. Not having a Jump option in DOOM is one of
the most annoying things about the game. Walking up to a tiny ledge and
not being over to walk over it is just silly.

Ah, well... DOOM was good in its time, though. Now it's time for the
new wave of 3-D multiplayer "run-around-and-shoot-things" to take
control...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ;)

ObAnime:
Wouldn't DOOM be that much more interesting if you played, say,
Kenshiro of FotNS? Or Mughi? ^_^

Ja ne!

I disagree... the look up/down feature is easy to do with the mouse.
(I'm a mac user, don't know if this is doable on a PC) And yes, jumping
and ducking is great, and nothing beats jumping a Dark Trooper's missile
:)

Err, could you guys tell me where this BGC WAD is?
I missed the whole thing.

(e-mail would be nice.)
