Help: Quake sounds BAD on my GUS-MAX...

Howdy..

I,ve just bought a used gus-max, but i'm having trouble getting good
sound from it. I tried the doom-demo (doom 1), and it sounded OK, but in
Quake (11 MB demo) the sound is really bad; the background sounds, the
wind, thunder and the owl, gives a lot of noise (it sounds < 8 bit). The
music sounds good, and does'nt have the same noise as the sound FX. Does
anybody experience the same, or worse, is it supposed to be like this??

What kind of gus-setting do you use?? (please mail me your gus-settings)

And it's damn loud. Isn't there a utility to lower the output( before
you enter the game??)

wow! you have an eleven meg quake demo?! Really?! Wow, where can I
get it!? Have you noted the sarcasm yet? Fuck you!@#%!
Three things could be happening here:
1. By the offhand mentioning of a "quake beta" you're just some
average joe who managed to refute everything Id has said as total lies
and procured a beta of quake, and simply thought EVERYone knew where
to get the supersecret elusive quake demo.
2. You're a skilless bullshitter with a poor sense of humor and too
much time on your hands.
3. You're hapless and stupid enough to think some dinky engine or
game you got is the quake demo when it is in fact some other old
thing, or a hoax, like the .zip file mentioned a few posts back.

While it could be any of these, I'd say because of the little
bullshit about owl, wind, thunder, and the casual way you just
"assume" the other posters here have experienced this problem that
you've made up in THEIR own copies of the quake beta, which everyone
got from #Oldwarez on IRC, of course..

err, 2.

In any case, go away.
This is not alt.games.bull.shit..

 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Other BS omitted...

Somebody better tell this clown that there is no demo (Alpha, Beta, Gamma,
Zeta, etc.)

Oh how much longer can we wait. Although I must admit that these kind of
posts are becoming more creative.

Sorry about this extreme f*uck up... Ive been reading to much a.g.q... My original message was
intended to alt.games.hexen, ok, I ment HEXEN, but it was 3 p.m and id is driving me crazy, and
it was _not_ my intention to pretend to have Quake. (My HEXEN-demo still sounds like shit though)
