Subject: Great Idea For Quake Newsgroups: alt.games.quake Summary: Keywords: X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Here is my great idea for quake, i have many more of them, so if you are interested, please email me. You're hiding in the shadows, waiting for the other guy to walk by. Finally you see him, so just as he gets close to you, you take your trusty hammer and bash him in the head, but not so hard to kill him. Then you take him somewhere, tie him to a rock, and proceed to cut off his arms, then let him run around armless, until you decide to hunt him down and lop off his head, and of course massive piles of blood will spill out. So what do you think of that? AFter that, you disembowl him and choke him on his own guts

(but I couldn't help but roll on the floor > laughing at your post!) I laughed too. That would make a great .lmp or whatever. I read on the finger file that id have been working on "enviromental hazards" so I guess that would mean fires and tornados. Imagine a watching some guy get hit by a tornado, and all of his guts go flying around in circles...The you use the demo recorder to show the gorefest from the point of view of each piece! :)

Well...The whole lopping off of the arms thing seems pretty cool...:) Mebbe ID can work that into the engine, because other wise, QUAKE won't be as fun...... I mean, damage on specific bodyparts seems cool, but severing and blowing off parts seems cooler. I've even heard the medieval thing may change....a little, as ID was talking about rockets and stuff in QUAKE....Cool, huh?

Cool. Another thread going into detail about gory things to put in Quake. Let's give everyone realistically texture mapped insides. So no matter how you cut them the cross-section will look real. Say you cut his head off, you could look in his neck and see his spine and thorax. And say you cut him in half, you could see a good cross-section of his insides. Also some key points could spurt blood more than others, rythmically like a pule (but only for a few seconds), so if you cut off his head blod would squirt out of the neck for a little while. Maybe even painting the walls. Same with other major arteries. Also they could have some "loose" parts. So you could cut open their stomach and their intestines would fall out (maybe you could grab them and swing the person around, or tie them to something like a rock and toss it off a high place). Also cutting his head in half would cause his brain to fall out. You could also make it so that the bones wouldbe removable so you could arrange them in areas to warn others that you are there. Plus I think it would realistic to have nerves. So that a person who gets their head cut off will still twitch, and say you cut someone's arm off while their holding a sword, the arm would still swing around making it dangerous. Just some idea I've been fantasizing about alot lately for some reason. Maybe it's my diet. -Ben

It probably will anyhow, but I'm not complaining. How about a weapon like an
automatic cheesegrater (rusty of course) that allows you to slowly remove your
victims skin, while he's tied down. Rib his cheeks off, and watch the flesh rip
as he screams. Slowy grate away his fingers, until he has nothing but stumps to
hold his beapons with. Go ever the soles of his feet once or twice so he cannot
walk. The maybe do a quick once over on random parts of his body. Leave him in
extrememe pain, lying on the floor helpless. To be eaten or picked off by
scavengers.
how about 101 sick ways to die in quake?
1. red hot needles slowly instered into the eyeball.
