Geez, Jimney Cricket. This newsgroups used to be fun to lurk; I got to watch people whither away in their basements, in front of their monitors, waiting (and waiting) for vaporware (quake), guessing at features, reading feature lists, complaining when features were dropped and then making up some more. Then came the neo-net racism. PCs sucks! Macs suck! I perfer the Mac, BUT, last I remembered, we _do have a choice_ as to what computer we want to use. You want to run Quake on the PC? Fine. You want to run Quake on the Mac? Great. It will be out for both platforms, Id has stated this many times, about as many times as they let slip that another feature has dropped. If you want to complain that we should only use one computer, than sign onto alt.facist and complain that we should all wear brown shirts, too. BTW, any Pro-PC person that says they are just "responding" to (insert favorite mac lover here) are just as bad -- they enjoy trying to get the upperhand, also. The 1st and most important rule of the net is you can ignore things. They don't need to be answered. Believe me, the latest pro-pc or pro-mac (or anti) wouldn't change anybodies mind. Please -- get back to "Quake is going to have UNIX piping! You'll be able to use any UNIX utility program as part of a weapon! Even sendmail! It's TRUE!" and cut the nosense computer-racism. Now let's see if I get flamed for making sense. [>] Brian (gga...@aol.com) [well, at least I can be flamed for AOL]

I don't know about UNIX piping but I do know for a fact that Quake will have VRML browsing capability. I can't wait to get on VR-Louvre and fuck up shit. Luke

Quake could have a VRML option to let you view VRML files like any other browser, but 'Quake Enhanced' VRML could have Quake-specific bits in it. (eg mass slaughter.) It'd be a lot faster than the OpenGL based browsers, too. -__-_--_._--_-__-.._--_-__-.-__-_--_..._--_-__-.-__-_--_..-__-_--_._--_-__- _____ __ __ / ____)\ \ / / Stephen Wassell \____ \ \ \/\/ / Internet: swas...@sv.span.com QMCnet: WASSEL.S (_____/ \_/\_/ See my home page! - http://www.geopages.com/Tokyo/1204/
