I'd never had a problem with any game using my SB Live! Value card.
Ever. BUT, when I started using the AMD A64 socket 939 motherboard over
a year ago, I stopped using the SB Live! because the onboard sound chips
on my 3 new mobos are ALC 97 8 channel chips are better than the Live!
Have run Q4 on two of these mobos with X2 4800+ and onboard Realtek 8
channel chip and no sound problems with any games at all. Except when I
installed a beta Audio and IDE driver from nVidia. My suggestion would
be to get the latest mobo audio driver from the ABit site for your mobo.
Getting that right is likely the key.
Merry Christmas!
