I'd go with the Mandrake 10 unless you want to download something newer. > 64 bit version runs with my X2 4800+ , 2 gigs DDR400 in dual channel, 6800 > GT. I haven't bought into SATA drives yet. Will run on a 64 bit CPU. > Dan, this is a fairly simple and honest request, so TIA for at least a > simple honest answer! :) No problem. Once you get the Linux distro installed (32 bit version), download this file: <http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-7676/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7676-pkg1.run> In a terminal, type "su" and then your root password, and then use the "cd" (change directory) command to navigate to wherever you saved the above file. Then type (without quotes): ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7676-pkg1.run Note that there is a (period) in front of that command... The installer should run at that point, and then you'll need to edit your XF86Config-4 file, as outlined here: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-7676/README.txt It sounds harder than it actually is. Good luck. -- If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space. Linux Registered User #327951
