Essentially all current activity in Quake is taking place outside of America (and on non-U.S. websites), particularly Scandinavia (though there seem to be a lot of players also in central Europe -- Russia and Poland -- and Brazil). PlanetQuake is a great resource, but there's been nothing new there in years. Here is one of the most active sites for online gameplay: http://www.quakeworld.nu/ This is the most-used Quake/QuakeWorld client: http://www.fuhquake.net/ This is an easy installation package that includes FuhQuake and a number of useful utilities and add-ons: http://equake.quakeworld.nu/ Here is a site with a huge collection of demos (movies) of net games: http://www.challenge-tv.com/ And here is a newbie guide to the modern QuakeWorld environment: http://www.challenge-smackdown.com/qwguide/
