Probably too far away for you in Scotland to get a good ping, but if any of
you in North America like CTF, in the evenings in the USA there's still a
QuakeWorld server that sees some good action, and we could always use some
more players: NRA Madhouse, running the TWCreeper Update Project mod with
various traditional CTF and new custom maps, at 216.127.72.90:27500.

Get the NRA maps from http://www.twcup.net/, and look over the descriptions
of impulses and runes at that site while you're downloading. You'll have to
download a number of models from the server when you first connect, also...
might want to set your rate to 9999 for the duration of the download, just
be sure to set it back to a more reasonable number as soon as you try to
play.

What can I tell ya.. It's not TF; there are no fancy skins or player
classes; just pick up a rune to get special abilities. People have various
opinions on the runes, but they do help HPBs and less skilled players
compete a little better. Your best skills in TWCreeper are learning the
runes, maps, and efficient use of the grappling hook for locomotion.
Teamwork is essential too, of course. And if someone with the sniper rune is
giving you trouble, pick up priest. Players can vote out of maps with the
"vote" command. Change teams with "color 4" or "color 13". Maps are vised
for transparent water/lava/slime; use r_wateralpha and r_novis to control
that.

Most of the players are old-timers that play often; younger kiddies fond of
potty talk and their TF speed/aim hacks tend not to stick around long.

Oh, and I'm not paid to advertise for them; I just enjoy the game and that
particular server, and would like to see more players from time to time. :)
