If you do it properly on many platforms with lotsa : > different tsrs loaded etc. : Haha, you are a funny man. count all the different sound cards (there are at : least 4 kinds of Sound Blaster Pros alone), the hundreds of different video : cards, the thousands of different combinations of tsr's and memory : configurations, and god knows how many other strange-ass variables. Windows : 95 did the biggest beta test in history, it's still buggy from a lot of : accounts. Heretic is buggy on my and other machines, as is about 10-20% of : the software I buy from big name companies, who I assume beta-test a lot more : thouroghly than ID is planning to test theirs. Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea. : You know what they say; all IBM clones are compatible, some are just more : compatible than others. : Scott : -- : Scott Hagie - ha...@netcom.com - Sierra Madre, Ca. : L.A.'s four seasons - Earthquake, flood, fire, and drought. Well, from what I've heard Quake will use most of Doom's driver and malloc code (the stuff you see when you startup Doom before the title screen). The setup program will probably be the same too. So if it works with Doom there should be no reason it doesn't work with Quake. Now, VR headsets and 3D accelerators are a different matter, but they probably won't be in the first Quake version (and there aren't that many different chipsets anyway).
