Usually in the case of MUDs they are either PKill muds or NOT. OR they have FLAGS that only certain people (say in Clans/TEAMS) are PKillable (PlayerStealing too) but they gain the fun of competition and perhaps Clan safehouses etc, OR they have certain PK areas. (ARENAS) where people can PKill without losing all their Items/Powers... or some such thing. Others have WARS.. where the entire MUD becomes PKill and each login automatically gets put on whatever team needs the player and for a certain time limit or when one team wins... the MUD is closed to outsiders until the war is over and then people can re-log on and try again. BUT then again IF the server code is freely availble like a MUD and can be put on servers easily... then the matter is moot because everyone can configure their server the way they want. Of course hopefully there will be a metaserver.idsoftware.com that keeps track of all the Quake servers that are up. Something like NETREK. *shrug* loooking forward to it. actually I am looking forward to Heretic 2. =) Quake will be out in Early 96 I bet. hmmm... 1999 is coming fast... beware the computers that crash when the year turns to '00... =) Bye.
