I don't use the RL as much. I only use it if it's the only *good* weapon I
have, I have a crap connection to the server, or I feel a little shaky with
my aim. Usually, I hit 'em once , or twice if possible, with a rail then
finish them off with a Chain gun or Hyper blaster.

Classic RA2 strat. But it works

Just Remember:

Close quarter fights are won by the person with more armor/health and faster
reflexes

Medium/Close Range fights are won by the ones who hop around alot and have
hard-to-dodge weapons (Chainguns, hyperblasters, and Sometimes Rail Guns
depending on the ability of the wielder)

Medium/Long range fights are won by people with the best aiming/leading
abilities and know thier opponent well

Long range fights are won by people who are good railers

pop-and-shoot (don't assume anything p3rv)/hide-and-seek/ "chase" encounters
are won by people who again, know their opponents well, and know how to
place delayed explosives to corner their enemy (Rocket Launchers, Grenades,
Grenade Launchers)

That's just the way I think. There are probably better philosophies on this
stuff than what I have to offer but that's my $0.02
