I'm a looooong time Quake2 player, have had the game modded every which way, edited paks, built player models, you name it. However, I've upgraded my pc with a new motherboard (Abit BH-6) and hard drive (WD Cariar 6.4). Now when I go to install Q2 (a fresh one off the original CD-ROM), I get an error trying to execute the game: "ERROR Couldn't load pics/colormap.pcx". I've only tried minimum install, since I only play deathmatch, but I've never encountered any errors like this before. Don't recall any colormap.pcx, either, and I thought I'd pretty much been through baseq2 with a fine-toothed comb looking at maps and textures before - can't believe I'd have missed a palette. Anyone got any advice? - Vermilion, sorely distressed :(
