Well I just got the Amiga version of Mortal Kombat yesterday, and played it
for about oh, Id say 3 hours or so....my opinion of the game...it has graphics
comparable to the Genesis version (though a little more colorful - {figure
that one out, since the Genesis can display 64 colors at once and the Amiga
only 32}) and the sounds were digitized compliments of a DAT and sounds just
like the arcade, but they took out Raiden's body launch noise...
The pro's and cons...
PRO:
The game plays faster than that of the SUPERNES/GENESIS versions, the
fatalities are all there, though the button combination for each one is
a little different. Reptile is in the Amiga version as well, the Resolution
is much better than the Genesis version also...it appears to have a cheat
mode, as the Amiga version has the EXACT same opening screens, the probe
then the Midway, then the Code of Honor screen etc....(which goes to show
you if the people took the time on the Genesis to do it, it could have been
done right, same for the snes)
CON:
The loading time is horrible, there is only a one button option so go figure
this one out, however EVERY move can be done. The computer is even more cheesy
than the Genesis version, and when alot of blood is on the screen, there is
a little bit of slow down...and the animation is a little choppy but thats
expected on a stock amiga...although I hear the AGA version is much better..
All in all its a decent game
RATING
70/100
