Have any of you guys preordered anything online recently? The reason that I ask is that I have had mixed results so far. The last two preorders I did were Capcom vs SNK, which I did straight from Capcom, and Tekken 4, with CompUSA. Capcom sent me a shirt for preordering, without telling me. They also shipped a boss catalog of upcoming games. The order shipped on time, no problems. CompUSA hasn't shipped Tekken 4 as of this afternoon. The website still says "processing" about my order. When I called, they said one of the items is on backorder. They said they were going to call their warehouse, and their phone system just dumped me back off again. I have to assume that there is a problem with the shirt, not the game, since even Wal-Mart has Tekken 4 now. (I'm so mad. Even Marty has his copy of Tekken 4 already.) Since I bought a lot of computer parts from CompUSA when they had a big sale a while ago, it made sense for me to get a gamefixx card. I never did get an IGN insider subscription, so they're allegedly substituting with EGM. ( I'll beleive it when I see it.) I'm not that mad, since I already made my money back and then some from the price of a gamefixx card, even without the alleged subscription and the three t-shirts I have gotten so far. (I'm not explaining the t-shirts on the newsgroup. E-mail if you're deathly curious.) But now this brings me to MK's November release... 1) Does anyone know about ordering direct from Midway? 2) Any news on promo items? 3) If not Midway, then who? (I could always _not_ preorder, and just take off my 10% at CompUSA, but then I lose any cool promo stuff I could get for preordering.) Chris

Buy the game at TRU or Best Buy and check Ebay in a day or two after the game comes out and buy the coins for a buck each...

buying MK:DA? ppl still buy games? i'm glad i have a cable modem, burner and mod'd ps2. some vid game shops here "sell rent games". meaning u can go in and rent the game or buy the game that is being rented or rent to own or buy games no longer being rented. i guess "selling rent games" is east coast slang... What? Are you serious? Are you trying to destroy the economy? On the one hand, perhaps you're not serious. Since you go by the handle of Trash, perhaps it's just _Trash_ talk I'm hearing. Also, since this newsgroup has been slow, I've forgotten everything except for the fact that I see the names JBomB and Trash periodically. I did see that you have a lot of posts here, but I wasn't able to get a handle on your position. In case you're not serious: I'm not going to get on _anyone's_ case for modding their machine. Each of us has to weigh their warranty against the ability to play import games. I hardly have the time to play US releases, much less imports. Also, a PS2 is something I'd rather have a warranty on. I guess if I was going to consider modding one, I'd yank a spare one out of a pawn shop. /rantmode on rantmode value is "on", default value is "off" But if Midway put that much time into a game that people like so much to have a newsgroup about it, and then to find out that the biggest fans of the game talk about burning pirate copies, I'd close the doors and tell everyone to shove off. If no one was paying for it, it'd be cheaper to not make it. Does your boss forget to pay you occasionally, thinking he can get away with it? Does the social contract of paying fair market value for goods and services and working a job where you're paid fairly for the quality of your own work not make any sense? (George W. voice) Are you some kind o' terrorist? Are ya _Un_American? /rantmode rantmode value is "on", default value is "off" /rantmode off rantmode value is "off", default value is "off" Chris P.S. Smile :) next time you mouth off like that, will ya? :P
