--ClashDimension Assembly Hall, Backstage--

While sitting in a chair, Demitri Maximov seethed.

He was normally not one to seethe. Seething was, he thought, for
the lower classes. Ones who got angry entirely too often.

However, there was no law saying he couldn't give new things a try
one in a while. And he'd found out that seething was actually rather fun,
given the proper moderation of course.

The door opened, and a familiar succubus walked in.

"It took you long enough," Demitri snarled. "I need you to do
something for me."

"Well, you know how I just love to feel wanted," Morrigan answered
in her usual silken, alluring voice.

        "...not *that*."

        Morrigan grimaced.

"Those fighters I sent after Sakura and her crowd have not come
back. I have found out that they have been detained by *security*, of
all things. Ugh. No matter. I'll find some way to deal with them."

"Want me to take care of them?" Morrigan asked.

"No, no. We need Guy brought to us, and our meager yet *annoying*
opposition squashed. That is now your job. And remember, we can't bite-
and-steal fighters like last time, so we have to work with what we've got.
Choose your allies wisely, Aensland. And please maintain a modicum of
stealth as well as effectiveness."

"I can do that." Morrigan nodded. "But what about that hedgehog
thing in the ring? Don't we need him too?"

"Ah, yes, that 'Sonic' fellow." Demitri grinned. "Already taken
care of. I found it surprisingly easy to recruit one of the beings that
was just recently brought into this dimension, apparently as a replacement
for a fighter. He'll keep our little power ticket in check. And probably
any of his help, too."

"I hope you're right," Morrigan said. "Well, time to spread
general havoc, I suppose. Be seeing you."

Giggling, she spread her wings, hit her afterburners and took off.

And just for the heck of it, Demitri indulged in one last seethe
before reactivating the special all-seeing viewscreen that he had taken
from Robotnik and Wily's room when nobody had been watching...

The Greatest Fighters In The Multiverse
                              Take On The Ones
                          Who Never Got The Chance.

                        Racewing Productions Presents:
                 Fiction Fighters' Clash--The Ultimate Remix
                                 Section 10
                 -------------------------------------------

--Announcer's Booth--

Iczel jogged back into the announcer's booth, a pair of steaming
okonomiyaki in his hands. "Hi, Racewing," he said, handing one to the Clash
owner. "Ukyo-san said this was your favorite. Did I miss anything?"

Racewing grabbed the food and took a bite, after which he nodded.
"Mmmph." After a moment to savor the taste, he replied, "Naah. The new
fighters are just coming in. Care to intro the first few?"

        "Sure thing."

--The Ring--

"CAFFEINE NICOTINE!" (SS3)

The old man jogged down to ringside waving his staff and talking to
the crowd. "Thank you, thank you! And remember to buy my book, 'You Too
Can Learn A Deadly Martial Art In Ten Days Or Less' at bookstores across
the Multiverse, or even on that crazy Internet thing, at Amazon-Something-
Or-Other!"

Iczel groaned. "Didn't he pitch that trash at the UVR, too?"

"Yup," Racewing replied between bites. "Worked like a charm there,
too. See, he was so hard to touch that people bought into it real
quick..."

"RIMURURU!" (SS4)

"The first of three mystery guests for this round, folks!" Racewing
said. "I told you we were pumping them up!"

"Okay, Konril, let's go!" said the junior Ainu priestess. "I hope I
can do okay. Oh, Caffeine-san is there!" she noted, and as soon as she
hopped into the ring, tried to freeze him into an iceberg by way of a
friendly challenge. This earned her a smile from Sonic, who the old man
had been annoying about learning martial arts since his arrival in the
ring.

"And the younger half of the Samurai Ainu sisters hits the ring,"
Iczel said. "I'm going to be a sport and avoid all the cold and freeze puns
that come to mind." He paused. "I've got this odd feeling I've seen her
in one of these things before, but the last one I was at was UVR2, so I
must be mistaken."

Racewing blinked. "Um... yeah. You must be."

"DAN HIBIKI!" (MvC2)

"OYAJIIIII!!!" A ball of pink rolled out of the entry at high speed
and hurtled towards the ring.

Of course, he plowed into the side of the ring when he got there,
and took a minute to shake off the dizziness before leaping to his feet and
superjumping into the ring, taunting multiple times as he came down.

"And the most self-absorbed man in fighting games makes his
entrance," Iczel commented, sounding bored for the first time. "I hope he
runs into Terry quick, that way we won't have to put up with his pointless
taunting-"

Having filled his Super Meter with all the taunts, Dan touched
ground beside Negaduck and promptly fed the mallard a Hisshou Burai Ken.
Feathers flew.

        "-whoa," Iczel finished, stunned.

"Hmm, I guess he's actually trying to *fight* this time around,"
Racewing mused.

"You know, I'd heard there was this 'aura of wierd' about your
tourney. I didn't believe it until now," Iczel replied. "Dan? Being
*serious?* Unheard of..."

"Remind me to hurt you when I'm finished with this," Racewing said.

"THUNDER HAWK!" (SFA3)

Native drums thundered over the speakers as the huge Native
American headed for the ring.

"When did you find the audio switches?" Racewing asked Iczel, who
pointed at his robot partner as he replied.

"Yellow pointed 'em out," he said, causing Racewing to give the
little robot thing a weird look.

Meanwhile, T. Hawk hit the ring and, deciding he wasn't a fan of
chainsaws, added to Negaduck's miseries by treating him to a Storm Hammer
slam. He and Dan nodded to each other and began to double-team the ring's
only villain.

"SASQUATCH!" (VS)

"CHUFFLE!" the ultra-cute abominable snowman said as he headed down
the walkway.

In the announcer's booth, Iczel turned to Racewing. "The scary
thing is, I've heard that Ryo Sakazaki and a few others can actually
*understand*-"

"Good to see you too, Sasquatch!" Dan called out. "Care to help
out? This is a villain!"

        "CHUFFLE!!"

"Got it!" Dan replied, rolling backwards. T. Hawk had time to give
the pink karateka a blank stare before Sasquatch's Ice Beam froze both him
and Negaduck.

"Oops," Dan said sheepishly. "I thought *everyone* understood him!"

Iczel's jaw dropped, then he spoke. "And now, I'm worried."

"Oh, they'll be all right. Maybe." Racewing continued to eat.

--ClashDimension Hotel, Lobby--

"Demitri? Again? So soon? Isn't that kind of like returning to
the scene of the crime to try and commit it again? The very next day?"
Guy, the Bushin ninja, scratched his head as he walked with his four
allies.

        "Yup," Cody remarked. "Definitely stupid."

"But if he wins this time," Sakura said, "the Multiverse will never
be the same. Villains and cheap fighters all over will be revered for
their 'superior techniques'. We'll end up worshipping them. They'll beat
people like us down, and we'll simply get up, thank them, and ask them for
another."

"Sounds like an S&M session gone awry," Chun Li said
absentmindedly.

The others turned to stare at her.

"Um... so, so I've *heard*," Chun said, with a nervous laugh.
"Okay, look, we're dealing with one of the most powerful collections of
fighters in vthe Multiverse. We need forces that can, at the very least,
match them. Sakura and I will go to the Eliminated seating at the arena to
recruit."

        "Why me?" Sakura asked.

"Because you've *been* there when all of Demitri's forces gathered.
You know exactly what this... this--"

        "Cheese Legion."

"Ugh. How tasteless. Yes. You know what they're up to. You'll
have to fill them in. Cody, we need Guy to stay out of sight. Neither
Demitri or his helpers possess any powers outside of their usual fare this
time around, which is a plus. Do what you do best, jailbird, and I'll see
what I can do about lightening your sentence."

"Hmph. I'd hide him anyway, but I'll hold you to that promise,"
Cody replied.

"There are probably several more places to hide in the arena than
in here," Guy suggested. "Not to mention, we can probably find out more
info on Demitri's methods. Let's head there."

"All right, but if we're heading to the same place, we'd better
split up," said Sakura. "I know where the back way is. Come on, Chun."

With that, the two pairs went their separate ways.

--Announcer's Booth--

Now having finished his okonomiyaki, Racewing took a look at the
draws list. And all of a sudden, his grin suddenly got very, VERY large.
"Iczel?"

        "Yes?"

"See that big green button on the side over there?"

Iczel looked around until he found it. "Sure do."

"Okay. Push the big green button."

"Okay." Iczel did so, and the arena darkened. A single pink
spotlight shone at the fighter entry doorway, and very, *very* annoying
Japanese pop filled the PA system.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Racewing announced through the mikes,
"because I'm such a shameless little fanboy and because I am more or less
funding this entire event so nyaah, I am personally abusing my power and
announcing the next entry! She is a shining beacon of cuteness and
determination! She is someone who has proven herself time and time again
as--"

Zahid burst in the door at that very moment. "I KNEW I couldn't
trust you! Just say her *damned name* already, or I'm sending security
after *you*! I don't want to be here all night!"

"Oh, pushy, pushy." Racewing sighed. "Fine then..."

--The Ring--

"ROLL!" (MvC2)

As the arena continued to play "Wind, Let Him Know," her theme from
the original Mavel vs. Capcom, the pink spotlight followed her to the ring,
amid mixed repsponses of cheering and... razzing.

And Roll made a mental note to hurt Racewing very VERY much for
embarrasing her like this. Oh yes.

"Dolt," Zahid muttered. Iczel simply stared.

Once she got into the ring, she went for the first recognizable
face. "Zero! Perfect!"

"Hey, Roll! How's it going? Nothing's wrong, is there?" he asked,
noting her urgent look.

"Actually, something is very, very wrong..."

"TRON BONNE!" (MvC2)

"And this would by mystery guest number two," Racewing said.

"I was wondering why you didn't have me just 'port her back to her
own world," Zahid said, scratching his head.

"She's working off some of her property damage charges."

        "Oh. Works for me."

"Ewwwww!" Roll turned up her nose as Tron's Gustaff mech and her
loyal Servbot, #26, waddled into the ring. "I can't *believe* they let you
in too!"

"Believe me, this was *not* my choice. Hey, who--" Tron finally
saw who she was talking to, and rolled her eyes at Roll in response. "Oh,
great, it's the waste of parts come to play with me! Look, just don't get
in my way, okay? Ooh! Hi, Zero!" Tron waved an winked at the red robot,
who merely smiled and waved back nervously in return.

Roll looked back and forth at the two. "...double ewww."

--ClashDimension Hotel, Back Lot--

"Yuck. I forgot this is close to where the garbage gets stored."
Sakura scrunched her face in disgust as she and Chun Li walked in a back
alley behind the hotel.

"Well, at least we won't be around it for too long," Chun replied.
"Now, if we just cut around back--"

"I've got a better idea, girls," a voice said above them. "How
about I just cut you *down*?"

Sakura and Chun looked up to see a winged figure in the sky.

"Took you long enough to show your face again," said Chun Li. "I
guess our little truce is over now, huh?"

"Can't be helped, I'm afraid," Morrigan replied cooly. "Have to
make sure this plan of ours goes off without a hitch, don't you know. The
benefits are just *so* rewarding..."

"The two of us are more than enough for you, you sicko!" Sakura
said defiantly.

Morrigan laughed. "Well, I'm not quite sure of that. But it never
hurts to have a little insurance..."

        *WHAM*

"YEOW!" Sakura found herself on the receiving end of a lanching
uppercut to her back, courtesy of the cyber-ninja Smoke. "Bad day..." she
muttered as she flew to the other side of the alley.

"PRIMARY DIRECTIVE: SERVE AND PROTECT MISTRESS MORRIGAN. EXECUTE
NOW." The robot walked towards the two girls, wisps of steam emanating
from its body with each step.

Sakura shook her head to clear it. "Ewww. Chun Li was right. You
have *no* taste!"

"Whatever. Oh, and don't worry about your friends," Morrigan
crooned, while floating above the three other fighters in a sitting
position. "They've got a *little* surprise waiting for them too..."

--ClashDimension Hotel, Front Lot--

"You're... um, not going to let us through, are you?" Cody blinked
as he craned his neck upward.

The Juggernaut simply laughed, and cracked his knuckles. "Man, for
what I'm getting if we pull this off, I wouldn't let my own *mother*
through! Then again, I probably wouldn't let her through anyway. It'd be
more fun like that..."

"Even as fast as I am, I can't go around him. He's TOO big," Guy
noted. "I hate to say it, but... we're going to have to try and go through
him."

"HIM?" Cody pointed at the Juggernaut in exasperation.

"Hey, it'll be like old times, you know? Forget the recent past.
I'd say it's time once again to represent the good old Final Fight node.
You up to it?"

Cody's face broke into a smile. "Heh. I can definitely move to
that!"

The two friends punched their fists together, a sign of comraderie
going back who-knows-how-long, then prepared to face their opponent, who...
was yawning and not taking them very seriously at all.

"Well, it's your funeral guys, really. So who should I make out
the sympathy cards to?"

Just then, a jacket hit the Juggernaut square in the face, and
while it did no damage, it did serve to annoy him. He yanked it off with
one hand, causing the ground to shake just a little bit. "Hey. What
the--?"

"A mismatch like this... I just can't allow it..."

From the side, Cody, Guy and the Juggernaut could make out Haohmaru
and Akira Yuki, the latter who had his headband off, and seemed to be
gathering chi of some sort. The air swirled about him...

"I bother nobody, and nobody bothers me. That's the code of my
martial art..."

Removing his headband from his pocket, he swirled it around and
fastened it with a flourish.

"...but this does *not apply* to scum like YOU! We'll teach you
some manners!" Akira assumed his stance, obviously ready and eager to do
battle. "Let's do it!"

"INDEED! WE SHALL TEACH THIS BRUTE A LESSON THAT WILL QUITE
POSSIBLY BE WRITTEN DOWN IN THE BOOK OF LEGENDS, BUT STILL SOMEWHERE
*BELOW* MY OWN ENTRY IN THAT SELFSAME TOME! ARE YOU READY?" Haohmaru
unsheathed his sword.

        Cody and Guy nodded blankly.

"I don't believe this. You gnats really think you can stop the
UNSTOPPABLE? Well, let's see you try!"

And the four-on-very-large-one battle began to rage.

--The Ring--

"PSYLOCKE!" (MvC2)

"And as Betsy hits the ring, we have to wonder whether the X-Men's
luck will finally change," Racewing said. "Gambit and Rogue showed hope,
but somehow, Negaduck got past them *both*!"

"Not exactly," Iczel said. "He did have quite a bit of help doing
so.'

"Still, they're gone and he's not," Zahid quipped.

Iczel sighed and nodded. "True, true..."

The first thing Psylocke did when he hit the ring was charge
Negaduck, swiping at him with her psychic knife. Obviously, she was out to
avenge her fellow mutants.

"Okay, what is this, the "Pick On Negaduck' Bonus Round? I'm outta
here!" Revving up his chainsaw, he charged around his assailants as best
he could, swinging to keep them at somewhat of a distance. He then
produced a handgun out of seemingly nowhere, firing in order to *maintain*
that distance...

"DEE JAY!" (SFA3)

"Yah, mon, I be trippin' to da rhythm! Everybody dance, OK?" the
Jamaican fighter called as he grooved his way to the ring, music blaring
without the aid of the ClashDome's speakers this time as he carried a large
boom box on his shoulder. He rolled into the ring and rushed Dan-

-and was given a Koryu Rekka for his trouble the moment he was
within range.

Iczel shook his head again. "Dan. *Competent*. This is really
freaking me out," he noted, then smiled as Dee Jay tripped up Caffeine
Nicotine from behind. "But at least Dee Jay shut *him* up."

"DOCTOR DOOM!" (MvC2)

The orchestral tunes of Latveria's national anthem flowed from the
Dome speakers, causing Racewing to glare at Iczel. "Now you're popping for
the heels?"

Iczel looked disturbed. "I swear, I did not do that."

Racewing looked back down to the ring. And remembered how Doom had
hacked into the far, FAR-more-complex systems of the UVR RumbleDome. "Uh-
oh."

"Tell me about it," Iczel replied. "Yellow! Link to the computers
here, find his backdoor and close it, and for gosh sakes do it FAST!"

"Affirmative, David," Yellow replied, drifting over to the
computers and laying a hand on them, muttering in what sounded like several
different programming languages.

"You know, maybe you should ask my *permission* before doing
something like that, newbie," Racewing said.

Iczel blinked. "Oh. Oops. Um, well... can I have Yellow stop
this crazy thing?"

"...yeah, go ahead. That music's annoying."

"Gee, *thanks*." Iczel rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Okay,
Yellow, do it."

Racewing watched Yellow work. "What the hell *is* that thing?" he
muttered.

Meanwhile, the Monarch of Latveria entered the ring and was
promptly set upon by Psylocke, Roll *and* everyone that she'd managed to
inform about the Cheese Legion's plot over the last few minutes.

"You and your cheap friends won't get your way here, Doom! ROLL
BUSTER!"

"I am, as usual, misjudged and underestimated, young android," Doom
said, firing a Photon Disruptor to cancel the blast. "Doom serves no one
but DOOM! *PHOTON ARRAY!*"

Doom's super technique sent half the ring sprawling and the other
half scurrying for cover, Sonic alone weaving between the bolts and staying
on his feet.

"Alone against *him*? This is *way* uncool..." Sonic said as he
dodged a Molecular Shield...

"BUNNIE RABBOT!" (StH)

"...or maybe not," the hedgehog smirked. "Bunnie! Let's get this
'Buttnik knockoff!"

"Sounds like a good enough plan to me, sugah," Bunnie replied as
she ran to Sonic's side.

"Oh, no, not again!" Mai wailed as she buried her face in her
hands.

"Looks like Rotor fixed my upgrades just in time. Let's see
here..." A moment later, Bunnie rose off the round via rocket-powered metal
legs to meet Dr. Doom, who was floating above the action, at his level.
Her arm then morphed into a cannon not unlike Mega Man's.

"Hey tall, dark, and manaical! Take THIS!"

With that, Bunnie let loose a large blast of pink energy from her
pulse cannon, catching Doom off his guard and knocking him out of the sky.
As Doom roared in anger, Sonic rushed. "Awesome! Let's take him down,
quick!"

Zahid's voice cut through just then. "And now for the final
mystery guest. We had someone planned, but he couldn't quite make it, so
we got the next best thing. Presenting the final fighter of this section:

"SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!" (SA2)

The two Freedom Fighters stopped in their tracks.

"Bunnie? Tell me he didn't say what I think he said," Sonic said
softly.

"Ah think he did, sugah," Bunnie whispered.

Indeed, with techno beats blaring and the lights turned low, a
black near-mirror image of Sonic glided out to the ring on hover-sneakers,
jumping into the ring and landing right in front of his double.

"Sonic," the black hedgehog said in a voice that was all business.
"I've come for you."

"Oh, I feel so special," Sonic taunted. "And I thought we were
a team now. What happened, did you scramble your brains coming here?"

Shadow shook his head. "For now, I have but one purpose for you.
You must help out an associate of mine. I hope that you will not try to
resist."

"You BET I resist!" Sonic did a quick spin-dash, plowing into
Shadow and knocking him over. "The last 'associate' you had almost blew up
the planet!"

"Oof! Well, if that's the way you want to play it..." rising to
his feet, Shadow pursued. "I shall show you no mercy!"

"Ha! Like I need it!" The high-speed chase was on.

"Sonic! Hang on, Ah'm comin' ta help!" Bunnie attempted to aim,
but was interrupted by a great deal of pink blasts from above.

"I do believe you owe me for a certain cheap shot, my dear," Doctor
Doom growled menacingly.

Bunnie looked up and sighed. "...dagnabbit."
