On version 1 machines, I have seen Raiden turn blueish white, the color of ice.
Doing this always involved teleporting or getting up after falling down. What
is the secret to doing this?

I don't know ... but the same thing happens on v.2 , and I think v.3 machines.
(at least my brother says there is on the machine at his work)

Yah, this is a fairly common bug, pretty sure it goes up to at least 3.0... Bascially, this occurs when you do something quickly while reforming from a teleport.. usually if I teleport and Body Lauch really quickly... You pretty much stay like that until it redarws Raidne completelyl.. Spencer "sorry for the typos, major laggg..." Olson ols...@elof.iit.edu sol...@imsa.edu

What >is the secret to doing this? the easiest way to make raiden blue is to use sub-zero or johnny cage. get raiden into the corner and beat him. while he is 'materializing' do the fatality and he'll turn blue. raiden can also turn blue in normal game play, as a glitch. i've also seen shang tsung turn blue. he turned half-way into kano and stayed that way for a while. jir...@u.washington.edu

I've been able to play as the blue Raiden, but only in the mirror match.
Have the other Raiden dive at you, then as you are re-materializing from that
dive, start the dive (back, back). Then hit forward just before you are
fully materialized. You'll dive to Raiden in the blue color if the timing
is just right. You'll be this blue color until you get hit. One
drawback is that when you do your dive, the computer Raiden will a lot of
times, block then throw lightning. This will catch you before you land
and change you back to the normal color :(. But if you can get by that,
you'll play as blue Raiden...
