Well, while looking through EGM, I noticed an article about a second hidden Ninja named Ermac. It was in a reptile fashion that he apeared. The person who sent in the article said he had beaten a human player double flawless using only punch (forget which round). They also showed a photot (which was clearly of an actual screen) with "Ermac Wins" written on it but the picture was too dark too make out many details. So what do you guys think? Is this BS?

So what do you guys think? Is this BS? It's doctored BS. ERMAC means ERror [in] MAChine. In other words something fucked up; i.e. Sub Zero's double freeze lockup (do multiple double ice backfires and lock it), disappearing against Goro (old trick) etc. Since the game counts things like coins in left slot, coins in right slot, character chosen this many times, goro beaten, shang tsung beaten, reptile beaten, I would be 99% positive one such count is "Ermac" or the number of times the machine has fucked up and taken a shit on the player. EGM no doubt saw "ermac" and thought "wow, a new character!" As if all this wasn't enough, there is 1. no additional graphical or text information for the character, 2. nothing to keep you from joining in aainst yourself and just punching your way right to ermac, if it were a real ninja, which is isn't, and 3. Ermac is such a common programmer term that it'd be akin to a secret character called Gosub or Compile. - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - Mike/garion@indirect.com/SD[MAX] Images & Words 1993/sydest2.com sysadmin You can feel the waves coming on, it's time to take the time... Yes - I believe ERMAC is some kind of error counter that is displayed (along with Reptile appearances, and game settings) when the machine is turned on... It is not even April!!! :^) p h i l

Most likely. Ermac isn't a character but a tally of how many bugs the
computer encountered: ERorr Memory Count. Somehow you can get a MK game to
list the number of times a character was used (including Reptile) and the
Ermac count.
Besides, "Ermac" is too stupid of a name for a ninja ;)
