Tch! How many of you MK fans out there have seen the comic book? It was
put out as a one-shot by Midway [I just posted information on how to order
a copy if you're curious by now. If Midway hasn't sold out, then they
should still be available through Nov. 1, 1993].

I ordered it a long time ago & liked what I saw. Certainly, the story
is a lot more complex and more "real" than issue #1 of the Malibu SF II
comic book [just out in the stores]. Some of the characters weren't drawn
to match their images on the game screen [both Sonya & Liu Kang have funky
new hairstyles, for example] but overall the art was quite clean. Nice
color, too.
I came across a rumor by Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine's chief
rumormonger, Quartermann, that Malibu might do a monthly MK comic book. I
haven't heard anything more since, though. Q-mann has been wrong before
[one of his most recent mistakes was to declare the SF II comic book dead
a month before issue #1 came out]. What do you think? Would anyone out
there like to see an MK comic book [with or without John Tobias drawing
it]?
A curious side tangent... the premise of MK, as the comic describes it,
of course, is that Shang Tsung successfully corrupts a Shaolin martial
arts tournament. A Chinese friend of mine has insisted that this is pure
fiction because even if the Shaolin were to hold a tournament, it would
*never* be corrupted. I am more of a pessimist, holding firmly to my
depressing belief that absoultely anything is vulnerable to corruption...

..anyone out there with more knowledge about the Shaolin in real life?
