In the UK, since many of the stores in "shitty" big cities refuse 
Scottish notes I cannot see the Euro being accepted *ever*. I am sure 
they would all rather we went back to barter :P

Cannot remember the wording but he is quoted as saying that "whether or 
not we [Germany] win the war [WW2], Europe will be united [under 
Germany]". And then came the EC :P He also said something about people 
fighting to be part of it, both seem to be coming very true. (But we 
[NATO] still get to stop them having a proper armed forces, how's that 
for trust! ;) )
