My personal theory is that most of the players wear blue and then wear red 
when they are the second player.  (Baraka, Raiden, Jax, etc.) and it would be 
easier to put Cage in this category.  

Or maybe they got confused since Cage wore shorts with a red stripe in MK1.  
Who knows, it's kinda fun to guess at these things though.
